Growth

The only way to keep anything alive and then hopefully allow it to thrive, is to let it grow.

Developing and contributing to the Wattled Smoky Honey-Eater has been a pet project for us for almost 3 years now, and over that time we’ve all moved, physically, spiritually, and creatively. During this growth, the idea arose to put the WSHE on hiatus. Postings were less frequent, we felt less inspired. Instead however, we made a realization. Just as any creative work must grow with the artist/s, we decided to not leave the blog static and drained in the dust.

Our approach was revisited. As websites look for ways to communicate on a local level, we want to move several steps ahead of them. We want to work from the grassroots level to produce grassroots ideas. Someone once said art is found in the particular. We want to employ the changes we’ve experienced, the changes that led us to grow in how we explore the world around us.

We want to share art from our creative group of friends, from places worth noting, from people making things. This blog is about exploration on the micro level with macro implications. We want to share simply based on our belief in the importance of being creative.

The goal of the WSHE is still the same: to share art, communication, and information from friends to friends. The WSHE is about dreaming. Call it active daydreaming. When the dream dies, the WSHE dies. Until then, keep exploring, keep dreaming.

Welcome, again, to the Wattled Smoky Honey-Eater.
